Belong

Every living tradition depends upon those who choose to stay.

Teachings survive in books. Traditions survive in people — in those who return, who practice, who carry what they have received and pass it on intact. The Naad Yoga Council exists because, for generations, someone chose to stay.

the world of the council

A young musician in Nairobi.

A physician in Toronto.

An elderly practitioner in Spain.

A professor in Kyoto.

A family that attends one retreat each year.

Do they all carry the Council in the same way?

No

Do they all belong equally?

Yes

That is the architecture of every institution that has endured — not uniformity, but many hands on the same work.

The Turn

There are many ways to carry a living tradition. Every one begins by belonging.

Everyone who joins the Naad Yoga Council becomes a Member. Beyond that, there are different ways to support its continuing work. These pathways do not measure belonging. They simply reflect the many ways people choose, and are able, to help carry the Council into the future.

Pathways of Support

Member

Member sustain the daily life of the Council — the teaching, the gatherings, the quiet ordinary work that keeps a tradition breathing.
Grow

Keeper

Keepers help preserve what must endure: the standards, the archives, the publications, the memory of the tradition as it grows.
Preserve

Patron

Patrons create possibility — new programmes, public work, research, and the Council's presence in the wider world.
Build

Benefactor

Benefactors strengthen people through the Council: scholarships, sponsored memberships, travel assistance, and opportunities that arrive, eventually, in someone's hands.
Enable

Legacy Circle

The Legacy Circle is for those who wish to make a lasting contribution to the future of the Council. If this speaks to you, we would be honoured to begin a conversation.
Endure

At any pathway, you may choose to sponsor a membership — making belonging possible for someone you will likely never meet.

Keystone

Financial circumstances should never determine whether someone can belong.

Every member belongs equally within the Council. The pathways of support do not measure belonging. They simply reflect the different ways people choose, and are able, to help carry the Council into the future.

If cost would prevent you from becoming a member, please contact us. We would much rather welcome you into the Council than allow financial circumstances to become a barrier.

Every journey begins with belonging.

Every member contributes differently, but every member belongs equally.

However you choose to walk with the Council, you will always be welcomed as an equal member of its community.

We would be honoured to welcome you.

Council Honours

Some words within the Council are not chosen. They are bestowed.

Fellow

Awarded in recognition of distinguished contribution to the life and work of the Council.

Guardian

Bestowed upon those entrusted with safeguarding the integrity, standards, and long-term stewardship of the tradition.

All who joined before June 1, 2026 are recorded as Founding Members of the Council — those who were present when this work began.

The Gate

Contributions can be adjusted at any time. If cost is a concern, please contact us — we would rather welcome you than let finances stand in the way.
