Dukh Bhanjan - Calling the leader in you

The night does not lead itself. It asks for someone to carry it.

Someone has to hold the night

Dukh Bhanjan exists because healing is not meant to happen alone, and because someone must hold the space where that carrying happens.

Each year, the Council calls a small number of practitioners to take on that role – to stand at the centre of the night´s mantr, so the sangat has a voice to follow towards the light.

Leading Dukh Bhanjan is how the tradition renews itself, year after year, through those willing to prepare for it.

This year, it could be you.

Leadership is not given

It is prepared for, one raag at a time.

Each year, the Council and Raj Academy assigns one raag through which the night will be held. The other two raags are for leaders to decide.

Leading Dukh Bhanjan is not performance. It is responsibility: to carry others towards light with your own voice as the thread they follow.

Three workshops prepare the leaders to carry it – from understanding the raag itself, the yogur and the building of a composition within it.

Leaders build what they’ve prepared to their own community, sharing the practice with others and guiding them towards the night.

Workshop 1: Yogur

Understanding the raag and anchors you to the mood.

Workshop 2: Decoder

The decoder opens that understanding further, making the Yogur flexible.

Workshop 3: Composition

You learn how to find your expression.

Who can lead

To take part, you must be a member of the Naad Yoga Council and have completed atleast the second year of the Naad Yoga Teacher Training or Sound Therapy Training with Raj Academy.

This is a responsibilty, not a performance slot.

Leading Dukh Bhanjan asks for real commitment – to the schedule, to the process and to the sangat who will follow your voice.

Interested in leading next year

If you feel called to lead Dukh Bhanjan in 2027, express your interest below. You will hear from Council as the year´s process begins in 2027.

The healing continues because someone, each year, chooses to take care of it.

If you feel called to lead, that is enough to begin.
