The Sunniai Collective

The sound of many. The wisdom of one.

WHAT THIS IS

Sunniai Collective brings together Council teachers and members across the world, each holding a kirtan in their own place, in their own time, throughout 2027 — one collective, many voices, carried by the same tradition.

Each concert stands on its own, led by a different member of the Council, in a different country. Together, they form a single unfolding experience across the year —

#ExperienceTheWisdom.

WHERE IT TRAVELS

Sunniai Collective opens across four countries in 2027 — Canada, Germany, Spain, and United Kingdom — with each concert led by a different Council member of the council.

WHY IT EXISTS

Sunniai Collective did not begin as a plan for concerts. It began with a question the Council kept returning to: what does it mean to carry this work beyond any one teacher, any one place, any one voice?

The answer took the shape of a collective — not a single concert repeated in different countries, but many concerts, each distinct, each shaped by the person holding it, all carrying the same underlying wisdom forward.

The voice of the collective. The wisdom of the sound.

The kirtan that travels. The wisdom that stays.

HOW EACH KIRTAN TAKES SHAPE

Every kirtan begins the same way: not with an explanation of sound, but with something real.

A situation many of us recognise. An emotional capacity it quietly asks of us. And an invitation — not to understand it, but to experience it, together, through the kirtan itself.

Wisdom can be understood. Transformation has to be experienced.

An illustration — Raag Dhnaasarree, “Sounds to Take the Step”:

There are moments when we know we need to take a step. We know something has changed and that it is time to move forward. It is not always easy to recognise what is happening within us, or to find the strength to move forward. We may need to recognise the strength that is already within us, feel it, and learn to attune ourselves to it. In the kirtan, we create a space to experience this strength, recognise it, and feel what happens when we are able to attune ourselves to it.

CARRIED FORWARD TOGETHER

No concert in Sunniai Collective stands alone. Each one is held by its community as much as by the person leading it — carried forward through the people who attend, who share what they experienced, who invite others in turn.

This is not a tour. It is a tradition moving through many hands at once.

Some things can only be understood by feeling them.
Come experience it for yourself.
