The Naad Yoga Council exists to preserve, advance, and support the living tradition of Naad Yoga. We bring together teachers, practitioners, researchers, and institutions committed to safeguarding its integrity while passing its wisdom forward to future generations.
A world where the tradition of Naad Yoga is protected, practiced, and passed forward with authenticity.
The Council holds this responsibility:
We did not create Naad Yoga. We received it. And with that receiving came a responsibility: to protect what was entrusted to us, to deepen our understanding of it, and to ensure that those who come after us inherit something whole. The Naad Yoga Council is one expression of that responsibility, made visible.
“Whatever is not shared, is lost.”
Professor Surinder Singh – Yogi of Sound
A tradition survives through practice, not preservation alone.
Quality grows where standards are respected.
Knowledge is transmitted through relationships.
Naad Yoga is a lifelong journey.
Naad is experienced before it is explained.
The tradition is always greater than the individual.
Laura has been a Naad Yoga teacher and practitioner since 2012, leading BeSound Naad Yoga in Spain and bringing the tradition into communities through teaching, sound work, and the annual Dukh Bhanjan meditation night. She became President of the Naad Yoga Council in 2024. Her work is rooted in a simple conviction: that sound, practised with integrity, returns people to themselves.
Inderpreet has been immersed in the tradition of Naad Yoga since 2010, bringing to it a quality of quiet dedication that has shaped her teaching and her practice. She supports the Council’s work with the same care she brings to the tradition itself — steadily, without seeking recognition.
Simrit has spent nearly a decade immersed in the tradition of Naad Yoga, studying under Professor Surinder Singh and developing as a Rabab practitioner and multi-instrumentalist. As Council Lead, she guides the Council’s international development, with a particular focus on building the structures, relationships, and partnerships that allow authentic Naad Yoga communities to take root across different countries. Her work is shaped by a belief that the tradition is best served not by expansion alone, but by depth.
Kiran came to Naad Yoga in 2023 and has since committed himself to its study and practice with sincerity. He supports the Council’s work with a grounded sense of service, and a belief that the tradition deserves to be carried forward with the same integrity with which it was received.
Veer has been a Naad Yoga practitioner since 2012 and a teacher of the tradition, carrying it into educational and community settings alongside her work as a secondary school teacher. She is drawn to what careful listening makes possible — not as a technique, but as a way of being present.

Professor Surinder Singh is the Council’s Guiding Teacher, offering the wisdom, lineage, and lived experience that continue to shape its understanding of Naad Yoga and its commitment to preserving the tradition with integrity. His teaching, spanning decades, continents, and disciplines, is the ground from which this community grows.
The Council will gradually expand its work through education, events, mentorship, publications, accreditation, and international collaboration as the community grows.
Whether you are discovering Naad Yoga for the first time or have walked this path for many years, there is a place for you within this community.
Membership is open to practitioners, teachers, researchers, and anyone drawn to the tradition.
Those who contribute their time, skills and care to the Council’s work, whether through hospitality, events, writing, research, administration or creative practice, help sustain and advance its purpose.
Council Recognition acknowledges these contributions through a certificate of appreciation, offered upon completion of a meaningful period of service or a defined contribution.
This may include supporting an entire Dukh Bhanjan programme, completing a Council project from beginning to end, or contributing consistently throughout a season.
Recognition honours the commitment, care and responsibility demonstrated by Council Contributors. It acknowledges contributions beyond teaching and performance, recognising the many forms of work that sustain the Council.
Council Recognition is distinct from Council Honours. While Recognition acknowledges a completed contribution or period of service, Council Honours celebrates sustained and distinguished dedication over many years.
